GRIT Week 1 nears the end!

Susan isn’t here with her camera or I would add a picture, the GRITers did a great job at Camp Shalom this week! They tore out an old deck, cleaned the camp inside and out (found two mice, one live and one dead, and a dead bird in the closets, fun, fun, fun!), and in general began the process of preparing camp for kid’s camp and teen camp later this summer.

We also studied the first lessons on Devo prep and basic Christian leadership. We are going to have a great time learning together this summer!

We are hoping to move into a slightly larger place within the next two weeks. It has been a slow process but we are finally moving forward. I have been able to reconnect with several people in the past three weeks and have many more on the list. Susan and the kids are more than ready to get into a place with more room!  Susan says life doesn’t really begin until she has ready access to our car. Having it parked outside the door will be a lot better than the 20 minute walk we have for now.

September Schedule

We have a little driving to do this month. Wautoma, Beaver Dam and Ladysmith, WI are all on the schedule. We also have a three day mission’s conference in Manitowoc, WI to start October. This is our last month in WI,we pack up and head to Iowa  the first week in October as soon as the mission’s conference is over.

Our time in WI has been good but busy. The kids have been busy with home school during the week and we have traveled every weekend. I have been traveling to Plymouth during the week to help Susan’s brother, Wendell, move and finish up a few projects. Living with Susan’s parents has been really fun for the kids. They won’t know what to do with themselves once we are back in IA and it is just us again.
